Who are we?
Black Residents of Evanston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a sense of community that is inclusive of Black individuals in Evanston. One of its key programs, Black Parents of Evanston, focuses on creating an inclusive environment for Black caretakers and caretakers of Black children. The organization hosts events for children of all ages and occasionally organizes protests or initiatives aimed at bringing about positive change in the community.
Supporting Black Residents of Evanston is vital for several reasons:

Parielle Davis
Director
Parielle Davis is the Executive Director of Black Residents of Evanston, a dedicated advocate for racial equity and community empowerment in Evanston. With a deep commitment to uplifting Black residents, they lead initiatives that provide vital resources, economic opportunities, and advocacy to address systemic disparities. Under their leadership, the organization has expanded access to housing support, educational programs, and business development for Black entrepreneurs. Passionate about fostering lasting change, Parielle Davis works collaboratively with local leaders and organizations to build a more just and inclusive Evanston.

Kayla Mehrtens
Grant Writer
Kayla Mehrtens is the Grant Writer at Black Residents of Evanston, committed to empowering the Evanston community through educational resources and advocacy for equity in education. They support initiatives that provide essential learning resources, financial education, and support for Black families of Evanston. Through their work, the organization has gained funding to expand educational support and provide support for Black parents.

Web Developer
As the web developer, Ryan Hernandez-French ensure a seamless, user-friendly experience where residents can access vital resources, stay informed about local initiatives, and engage with one another. Through intuitive design and cutting-edge functionality, Ryan will help bring the vision of a stronger, more connected Black community in Evanston to life.
